SS Commuter - Pompino/Langster/Other?

I'm soon to have a 15 mile commute on rolling country lanes to contend with. To that end, i'm looking into a new machine for the job. So far the favourite is the Pompino, but i'm also looking into the Langster. From what i can see, the Langster is a bit (a lot) lighter, and has proper roadie brakes. The Pompino, however, seems more industrial, and is more versatile (mudguard mounts, etc)

I also fancy the Roadrat and Singular Peregrine, but i'm not sure i could justify the extra cost... I'll not be riding off-road or anything similar (i have mountain bikes for that sort of carry-on).

Any input would be appreciated!

I have the Gary Fisher Triton which I really like. It's properly rapid.

edited to say: It takes a rack and I have those race-blade guard things on it too.

Buy the pompino, Purely for the Italian translation...

Plus it rides amazingly, like a mtb, I've got slightly longer full carbon forks on mine which slackened it off so I could fit a stubby stem and it's the best urban assault weapon. It's so mobile and agile an utter hooligan of a road bike!!!!

Which is? Google translate just repeats it to me, but in an Italian accent?!

That Italian accent is now sounding much better.
