I've just been listening to the genius of Boris Johnson on DID and it was hillarious, so what is your selection?
Rules are simple, pick 8 tracks you would pick to have with you if you were stranded on a desert Island and tell us why. Then also tell us which of that list you would keep if you could only save one of them.
Then I will give you a copy of the bible and the complete works of Shakespeare to take with you, but you get to pick another book too.
Finally you get to choose one luxury item for your time. Seeing as everyone will probably say bike, I'll give you a bike to take, so you can pick another item
anyway, I know we've had posts like this before, but heres Gazlars choices
Sultans of swing - Dire straits http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2nQZPC2uTs
I grew up listening to Dire Straits and have many happy memories of family holidays in Devon, with the Sultans of swing album blaring out my dad's old Ford Orion. I heard this song and it made me want to learn guitar, so I did
Run - Snow Patrol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOBs8dU4Pb8
The "Indie" nightclub in Wolves in the civic hall, Blast Off used to play this as the last song of the night, I remember meeting Mrs G and this was are last smoochy slow dance of the night. I remember then and there thinking that she was perfect, and she is

I'm not really Welsh, back a couple of generations my family are and Mrs G is also welsh. God save our queen is such a dirge of an anthem, wheres listening to 70,000 welsh belt this out in the millenium stadium sends shivers down your spine, its what proud patriotism is all about

My first memories really of Football were Italia 90, and toto schillachi, and this played all the time. I get goosebumps still everytime I hear it
We'll meet again - Vera Lynn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHcunREYzNY
A couple of years ago I was in Amsterdam with Mrs G, we stumbled across, by luck the liberation day concert by the magere brug on the banks of the Amstel. This was the last song they played, thousands of people holding hands and singing, it was a magical moment of unity of all kinds of people
One day like this - Elbow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NFV8dHrZYM
Such a beautiful song, my favourite gig I've been to. Holy cow I love your eyes always makes me think of Mrs G
If I had to save one though, I'd have to pick Run by Snow Patrol
My book would be the journals of Bob Monkhouse, I'm fascinated by the art of jokes and of the old stand ups, I'd love to go through his journal
My luxury item, quite simply a guitar
You dont have to go into as much detail as I have mind, I was just bored

When I lived in the U.S. I used to park on my driveway and drive on the parkway... and it wasn't a big issue. Frankly I'm not too fussed with what all these bits and bobs are called as long as I can find them and order them from Merlin/CRC/Wiggle/whatever.Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)
Giant Anthem X4 (2010) GT Avalanche 1.0 (2010)
