Question re fork compatibility

Hi all,
I've just bought a 2010 Boardman team FS very, very cheaply from a mate of a mate - it's marginally too big for me but bought it for the kit that's on it.
I want to move the kit to a 2011 trance frame either by buying an X4 and swapping the bits that are worth doing or by getting just the frame and building it up from scratch (I prefer the colour of the frameset rather than the white X4)
My question relates to what issues will I face swapping the forks as the trance has a tapered head tube and the Boardman doesn't - will this cause problems or be fixable with a new headset? The forks are Reba RL's if that's relevant.
Thanks

When you hear hoofbeats, think of horses, not zebras.

you will need a suitable headset with a reducer lower cup. also make sure the steerer is long enough."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
