Fairly new machine, built up over the last week or so. Amazing bike. Absolutely love it.
Spec - Carbon black, red and white. Size 54cm (548 top tube) Zipp 404 tubular with Vittoria tubs, s-works seat post, Campagnola Super Record 2011 shifters, front and rear mech, chain and cassette (12-25), Campag cabling, TRP 970SL calipers, Rotor 170mm crankset (52-36) with ceramic bearings, Look Keo blade pedals, Zipp water cages, pro integrated stem and bars, Fizik bar tape. Still fettling with the saddle position and height as well as saddle (though have since moved up and back since this was taken) but the Charge Knife saddle works well for me and I will never spend silly money on a saddle again ! I might switch to white bars, white spacers for a nice line, but as of yet undecided.
Total weight as seen 14.5lb and fast. Over the moon with this bike. My first Specialized bike and I am now a new world carbon convert. What I find interesting about this bike is after having had some nice bikes but not yet finding the right one for me, when I test rode one of these I was amazed. Average wheels on the test bike it and flew. The weird thing about this machine is that it is fast and asks for more and gets faster without feeling dangerous. It is as efficient as my S3 but as planted as a Dogma yet hand on heart it out climbs anything else I have ridden and I feel very content riding it - did a 100 mile sportive on Sunday and rode like a charm.

Looks sweet.
I bought mine last year and have put the Cosmic Carbones on it this year. Like you, really impressed with climbing and ride. Chuffed for you.0 -

Thanks - scratch and sniff at its dearest! Its only money and I have none anyway. Super bike and you know where I am coming from.0 -
Like that, with hints of McLaren in the colourways.
Do you still have the S3 and Dogma? One hell of a collection of bikes if you do. I wouldn't now which one to ride! :roll:0 -
Nice bike Pete (I know you - I am a friend of Damon's and rode a classic Colnago with you on a ride last summer).
I like Kinife's too but I tried one of these on a new bike and thought it was more comfy and it may suit the Spesh better ;-)

No, if only. S3 was a tad small for my torse length with 545 and the Dogma went as I was skint after going on part time hours and local pro asked me what on earth I was doing riding a bike that good? :roll:0 -

Hi mate, cool. I remember you on the ride. Cheers, I will take a look. Damon gave me some sound advice with this machine and everything he said is correct. Superb machine and wayyy cheaper than other brands which is nice.0 -
Lovely bike. Looked even better in the flesh! Great colour scheme.
BTW, I like the black bars!Simon0 -

Mate, that's ridiculous eh. The enjoyment you get out of riding your bike has nothing to do with 'justifying' the cost of the bike you're riding.
Very nicely done and i kind of like it which isn't usually the case with me and spesh. Enjoy!0 -
so slick looking, really benefits from the red and white detailing0

Looks really good -unified, everything fits together, well done Sir0

Thanks all. It is hard to fathom how good this bike is. Love it , really love it and feel like I have found the right bike for me. Best thing of all, I have money left in the savings as the build cost less than I thought due to shrewd second hand buying !0

How's the road buzz Pete?0

HI Pete,
I see why your chuffed . It looks awesome.
Hope to get one myself someday !!!
Hope I'm not being too cheeky but nay chance you could post what you paid for some parts and where you purchased...
Does anyone know if you can get a new SL3 for less than list price. Think i can get 10% of it with club membership but cant find anything cheaper. Wondering would any shops offer extra discount if i got them to do the build and got some parts through them !!
As you can guess money is tight !!!0 -

No issues. In fact, less than the Dogma which always gave me pins and needles in the left hand after 10 miles which I used to slap out. I am running the same psi as well.0 -

I had read it was an issue in other reviews. It's a beautiful frame, love the finish0 -

Tricky as people are not discounting due to big world wide sales and there are very few left at Specialized. I got mine from LBS which was fine for me though I got pedals at £125 as part of the deal, which was super. Wheels little used second hand at £500 each, calipers, bar/stem, saddle from previous bike, Rotor cranks £285 from Velo tech direct as last Titanium ones in stock, BB £85. The dearest parts were Campy kit whic I got at 10% off in LBS and that was only shifters, mechs and cassette.0 -

Yeah? Straight up, no issues and I like a lot of pressure in my set up, usually run the front at 110/120psi dependant on the route. As I said in buying advice, I like stiffness in a bike. 8)0 -
