E&L Cycle Insurance?

Any reasons why I shouldnt click 'buy now'? Anyone know if they have a good reputation?

I had a near miss today, not my fault but was a blink of an eye away from a nasty accident. Worst part is that i was on my spanking new carbon machine with less than 250 miles on it!

I know marks and Spencers home insurance is popular but we had a claim last year for theft and can't get a quote below £60 from them. With E&L I can insure both the carbon bike and the commuter for £15 a month. I want accidental damage away from home and also to be covered if I do get hit by a car.

Both bikes are kept in the house.

Have you looked at moving your house ins over. M&S & AA both cover cycles, and no extra charge upto £4k.

I am with AA, great service and bl00dy cheap as well.

Also look at the insurance British Cycling offer. They were the cheapest by some way when I was looking and they cover me while I'm racing as well. Which a lot of other companies didn't. You also get some discount if you are a BC member.

Cheers all. My current home and contents insurance specifically stated that cycles were not covered. After a little bargaining with them this morning I now have both bikes insured for almost no difference in premium. It's insure pink btw

I currently have insurance with E&L. I pay about £10 per month. Please could you let me know why I shouldn't be with them? I have not tried to claim yet.

    Cheers

  • I've done a bit of digging on the net and apparently they are a bit hit and miss when it comes to claiming and paying out.

Obviously, that is just opinion but there do seem to be a fair few bad cases about.

    IMHO proceed wih caution.
