Hi To All, I'm new to these carbon thingy's. I've bought me a new 2011 team carbon - really impressed with the Taiwanese frame (that's what it says under the BB). I've got no issues with the overall look of the bike,I've taken it out for a few miles after tweaking this and adjusting that, the 105 works well and I've put some Planet x Carbon rims on it, I'm a heavy rider so nice to see a massive Bottom Bracket - looking for a longer run this weekend if the weather stays nice - wonder if any owners of the new mat finish frame have any issues with the raw carbon finish(looks as if marks are seen where the frame has been rubbed down for want of a better word), any thoughts please or is it just me, Thanks to all Paul.

I used to have a 2010 team carbon in the gloss black finish it was also possible to see marbled lines and marks through the translucent black gloss finish, I did not mind this because I was made aware of the way the raw carbon finish looked when I viewed the early reviews of the Team Carbon on Bikeradars reviews section.

I ended up prefering the ride of my Alu framed Boardman comp.
if only I had bought it first

cannot complain the Team carbon was easy to sell and I got a good price
    for it :D

just ride it. its a rocketship. get it in 14 tooth on a still day and crank along at 28 mph for several miles. best thing i ever bought.
  • JK, Rake, thanks for the advice, I've got a Cinelli experience with tiagra on it now for my hack bike and love it to bits, but the reviews of the Boardman's looked great and just selling the B'twin, I thought what the hell, go for it, just waiting for my new bottle cages, and hopefully a nice run at the weekend - thanks Guys Paul.

There are companies selling bikes for 4x that price that could not attempt to sell them in raw carbon.

It's a sign that these frames are pure quality that you have the undressed thing, as it came out.

Some top end manufacturers would be very jealous that you have a matt, naked frame and it looks good!

  • Thanks Barshaker an Jelly, No, I'm really pleased with the bike and I think that it really does stand out, I've been looking at the Boardman's for a while now, the end of the 2010 and the intro of the 2011 was about the right time for me to but. I think I done well because I signed up to Halford's website and they kindly sent me a voucher with 10% off - so I made the right decision in going for the 2011 model only slightly more expensive than they were selling off the 2010 model - don't get me wrong, I'm not one of these high purchasers - bloody hell I rode a B'twin for 2 years - what a really great piece of kit for the price - I've just seen the new Triban they are now selling, similar frame to the old one and got Sora on it for £500 really good value I think, I couldn't fault the B'twin, but sold it to part fund the Team carbon. Thanks for the advice guys - really nice to hear from you - Take Care - Happy Riding Paul.

I've got a 2010 Team Carbon and absolutely love it!

I (being a tight Yorkshireman,) couldn't justify the extra £300 on the 2011 model; plus I bought mine on the cycle to work scheme :D
