    FANTASTIC!!!

The Man's back in style. He's even brought me PTP points, ever considerate.

Speaking of, did you notice how considerate he was in the post-race interview? Immediately said that he hoped they would all be alright. A true gentleman.

Wow damage. I know these things are often unavoidable but you would have thought they would try to be extra cautious.

EBH 3 ribs, Hincappie off twice and Roubaix ride uncertain, Boonen too.

Who is that dishing out a "Renshaw Kiss" at 28secs?

The overhead shot, which isn't in that clip, showed that Weylandts clashed with Farrar, came off the worse, and his front wheel goes under Farrar's back wheel.

Robbie McEwen. They teach it in Aussie Sprint School.

If you can't beat them, nut them.

    Great win for Cav.

"McEwen was spotted in an ideal position before he had to make room for Cavendish lead-out man Leigh Howard (HTC-Highroad), who was going backwards." (typical HTC lead out)

Farrar was right on Cavy's wheel in ideal position when Cavy threw his wheel back, and caused havoc.

I'm certainly no Cav fan, but boy you take the hate biscuit.
That clip, which is the same one posted just above, btw, shows no such thing.
Cav is following Hautarovich's wheel. Farrar tries to swing around Weylandt, to stay on Cav's wheel. They touch and both hit the deck.

Nothing to do with Cav (for once) at all.

Farrar and Weylandt were scrapping for Cav's wheel, Weylandt wipes out.

A thought for Sjef De Wilde who is in intensive care after the accident yesterday.

I don't mind admitting to being a fan - though not oblivious to his faults. In this instance however there is only one person who is a tool and it isn't him.

To hell with the sprint. I checked Google as suggested by cornoyemode - I think that Cav may well be manufacturing PEDs for the peleton.

Cavendish Laboratory turned up 218,000 hits. Not only that, but it helpfully showed where it was on a map

Rot, the guy going backwards is from Sky & ended up in the fence. nothing to do with HTC or Cav

Agreed. Really hard to tell from that clip why they crash but I can't see anything Cav does - doesn't seem to throw the bike back - looks like they are a bit tight having to squeeze past the Sky rider and there is some kind of contact but nothing to do with Cav.

edit - you can see McEwen having to go round the HTC leadout in the first couple of seconds but that's life - it's not a deliberate blocking move and I don't read it that McEwen is saying it's anything more than bad luck.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

Thankfully not as seriously injured as originally thought, though he'll still be out of action for a long while:
