Music track onto a .avi vid

Whats the easiest and "cheapest" free software that can overlay a music track to say a vid downloaded from cycling torrents...anyone?
Got the last 22km of the Flanders that would make a pretty good workout.
Running xp and sticking with it.

    if its just an avi why not use xp's movie makerrrrr.

    +1 for Moviemaker. Cheap and cheerful.

    I did a couple of slideshows of 2 tours to the sound of Kate Bush's Big Sky and Tom Petty's Kings Highway. They turned out OK with a bit of creative imagination (something that doesn't come naturally to me).

    With Vista I've found myself with 2 versions of Movie Maker, the one that comes with Vista and the one that comes with Windows Live.
    Both are visually and functionally quite different and I can never remember which is the better one.

    Goes and Checks: It's the one that comes with Live I think.
    Do Nellyphants count?
