Hey

Seen both trousers which are gortex, and seem great for around 60.00
Anyone used them, might go to local tkmax to see what they have as well.

I have had 4 pairs of trousers, from normal berghaus waterproofs for 35.00 and nightivison ones ect.. all have failed in the bum after a month or 2.

Thanks so much

  • We get berghaus stuff in work for wet weather gear and I think it's all massively over priced and over rated. I had a pair of £125 trousers that the zips fell apart on after 5 months.

Might just be bad luck but im not a big fan.

Had some wicked helly Hanson stuff.

Just need some more bum protection.

I did see a pair on CRC but cant see them anymore, it had like a thick cotton outer bum area to protect the inner waterproof.

I cant understand, for biking trousers, how all these trousers fail in the bum within a month or 2.

Just went into shop in cardiff, they had the berghaus storm goretex trousers, they are 60.00 down from 120.00

Going to get those, as goretex advised me waterproof for life and if they fail ,they will give me a new pair. Seems I cant go wrong

Ok been looking and I have narrowed it down.

Altura Attack they have the re-inforced bum which has extra protection, or the 60.00 berghaus gortex trouser.

    What do you think ?

Can someone please move this to commuting, maybe get more feedback if people need waterproofs? Might be in wrong section.

    Thanks

Why not just post the question there?

The Attack shorts are very good. Not sure I'd spend £60 on non-biking waterproofs, the storms seem to be overtrousers which might mean they're not that nice against the legs, and I'd be a bit worried about how they'll wear.

    But then, I wouldn't wear trousers on a pushbike, that's weird ;)
