chain length

Hi,

simple problem, probably obvious answer.

I am about to fit a new slx rear mech to replace a xt mech, both are sgs long cage although slx is shadow, xt is not. SO,do i need to changed chain length to accomadate the slx?.

    mech size and make has nothing to do with chain length.

    Put it around the big chainring, big cog, missing out the mech plus two links. Some will say one extra link, doesn't make a major difference
