Litter

I did the Quattro Sportive on Sunday and whilst driving to my Mothers house on Saturday there was gang of guys in Hi Viz clothing working on an embankment along the M54, my wife asked me what they were doing and I said clearing up litter, she replied I suppose the rest of us have to pay them to do that. I said in a sence Yes.
Sunday whilst doing the sportive I was on the back of a group of six when the guy in front starts riffling through a plastic bag he had in a pocket, he takes out some food and then just chucks the bag away :!:
Not only that but you didn't really need signage all you had to do was follow the trail of gel wrappers back to the finish. :x
To all Sportive riders and drivers/passengers please take your rubbish back to somewhere where it can be properly disposed of.
And to organizers briefing a set of riders before there start just a brief word about not littering the countryside please.

It annoys me to see this happen, takes no time to put the empty wrapper/bag back in your pocket til you reach a feed stop, but i suppose because the professionals discard their bottles willy nilly on TDF etc most cyclists think it's ok to copy?
Have seen a few post notes from organisers of sportives warning that future rides might be jeapodised because of this. :x And if they were to put an extra charge for cleaning up after the event we would all be moaning.0
