The Rivington 100 has everything a cyclist could want - stunning scenery, big hills and the chance to be crowned King of the Mountains!
The Rivington 100 takes place on Sunday 8th May 2011 and, as the name suggests, is a 100-mile circular cycle challenge from Horwich Leisure Centre, north of Bolton. The route follows the same path as the 2002 Commonwealth Games road race and will take you past pretty Lancashire villages and reservoirs, with some steep climbs at various points.
You can push yourself to the limit even further with the King of the Mountains competition, a timed section to the summit of Nick O’ Pendle.
For those who want to participate but unsure if they can complete the full 100 miles, there is also a 52-mile option.

the website says cancelled. what a shame.0

I heard a couple of days ago that this was being cancelled due to staff cuts within the charity which was running it. I offered to help run it but they are cancelling.
I haven't done the event myself but I had heard it was good. So it's a real shame for everyone who has entered.
