"Groaning" bottom bracket

Went out for a training ride yesterday morning & noticed a groaning noise from my bottom bracket when out of the saddle going up hill in the big chainring.
Diagnosis - loose bottom brackets shells; new grease needed in the bearings; tighten crank arms??
Any ideas for a quick fix?

Almost every noise made by a bike sounds like it's coming from the BB so it's worth checking that everything else is tight first. If you were out of the saddle then the bars are a possible culprit so check they're tight and not creaking.
If it is the BB then take the chain off and turn the cranks by hand to feel what the bearings are like. They're sealed so you can't regrease them. You'll need to replace them.
If the bearings are okay then it's dead easy to get the crank off and tighten everything up. Check the Shimano or Campag website for torque settings.0 -
Don't think it is the bars but will check them with the torque wrench......
My guess is probably the cranks need taking off and re-greasing but will check the BB first (it is not that old - probably less than 1000 miles)Summer - Dolan Tuono with Sram Force and Dura-Ace 7850 CL Carbon wheels
