Hi All,

I just replaced the pad on the rear and discovered that the rear rotor is not running true. Should I just replace or is it worth trying to retrue it. Found this tool online

Protools Rotor truing fork

Cheers

sounds more like the pads need bedding in.

When the calliper bolts are lose and you spin the wheel it moves quite a lot from left to right and back, can also see a wobble on the rotor.

How much is quite a lot? If its only out by a few mm then definitely try straightening it.
You don't need that tool unless the rotor has taken a rock and has a kink in it - and then its usually not worth the trouble anyway. IMO it's too easy to add kinks with a tool - but if you do need one an adjustable spanner makes a good substitute.

It sounds like yours has a more gentle warp, so just use your hands. Grip the rotor with a clean cloth to protect your hands and keep the rotor clean. Using fingers and thumbs spread the pressure across a wide area (typically 60 - 90 degrees) and gradually persuade it back in line. Just take your time, making lots of small adjustments until it's right.
My abundant supply of MTFU is reserved for use in dry, sunny conditions.

I just use an adjustable wrench to bend it back in to place, normally takes a few minutes of sipn-bend-spin but it fixes it.
