joined my employers scheme which is with halfords and a max of £500 any suggestions,road bikes,seen on thier web site you can also look at other bikes not in thier shops so also looking at -SPECIALIZED ALLEZ16 . GIANT DEFY 4. TREK 1.1 COMPACT, just wanted opinions on which would be the better buy ie not need upgradingin the near future

The boardman cost £559, however you just may be able to pay the £59 extra depending on the store. As paying extra is against the rules of the scheme they may well decline but some stores do allow it.

Halfords can also order bikes in if you see one you like somewhere else
