Cone Wrench Size for Shimano Deore M525 Hubs

I've been browsing and searching the forums for quite a while now and many thanks for all the help I've already derived from your collective wisdom. But I've finally come across a problem that you hasn't already solved:
I want to service my front and rear hubs (both Shimano Deore M525s), but I'm not sure what size cone wrenches I need to do it. I read an article (http://steveukmtb.wordpress.com/shimano-hub-overhaul-cup-and-cone/) that said most Shimano front hubs need a 13mm cone wrench, whilst most rear hubs are 15mm. The exploded diagrams on the Shimano website look very pretty, but unfortunately they don't say what size the flats on the cones are. Before I go and buy a load of spanners that I don't need, can anyone confirm that this is correct? And most guides recommend using a standard 17mm spanner for the locknuts, is this ok?
Also, the Park Tools guide to servicing C&C hubs says that the final adjustment of the cones to remove any play is absolutely critical; how easy is this to do and am I likely to find my lovingly serviced hubs torn to pieces by my own ineptitude in a months time?

Easiest thing with cone spanners is to buy a pair that have four sizes in one, so they will work on most hubs. Normally on Ebay at less than a tenner.
Adjustment is easy enough, just enough to take any play out, not too tight that it restricts them turning. Normally just an eighth or so of a turn between right and wrong, so just be delicate and fiddle a bit.
Tighten up the locknut on one side, and then just adjust from the other.I don't do smileys.

Did my M525 hubs today. You're correct on the 13mm front and 15mm rear. The lock nuts are 17mm - although you could get away with a standard spanner for the lock nuts. I used this inexpensive set from Chain Reaction and they were grand:

Today was the first time I did it and it was easier than I expected - although getting the play correct was a bit of a pain. Took a few attempts before I got something I was happy with. The LBS did it last time and the cones were done up tight with no play whatsoever when I removed them! As Cooldad said the adjustments are very small so be patient.
