Hello there! New to the mountain biking and loving it! I have been offered 2nd hand a GT 3.0 2009(I think) model for £250 and I am not sure if I am getting a bad deal here or if there is any other bikes out there for roughly the same price I could go for?
I am hoping some mountain biking guru can show me the light.

what is your max budget?0 -
Does it have to be new mate?
There are plenty of very good, hardly used second hand bargains around. Especially Carrera's as they are sold by Halfords, and therefore a lot are sold and not necessarily used as they should be. Generally speaking the Carrera's are pretty good value for money.

Thanks for the response.
I think my maximum budget is going to be around £500 but the bike does not have to be a new one.
I like the look of the G.T. but would you suggest I go for the Carrera's over the G.T's given the budget I have?0 -
It depends on the model and year, and if they fit you.0

Despite the fact that the last two bikes I have bought have been new, I am a big believer in 2nd hand or ex demo bikes - more bike for your bucks0
