thought i would start up a thread with pics and specs of my bike.
firstly i appologise for the state of my bike its a bit dirty, as i dont wash it very often >_<
its a 2006 Giant TCR Team. it is completly standard apart from grip tape. which is a carbon fiber style tape.
pretty much all of the bike is Shimano 105 groupset
it is also due a really good strip and clean.
i will be getting some SPD's soon as i want to move on from my stupidly basic standard pedals.
i might also need some new rims soon as they are getting pretty worn and scored

i want to get some now, i just haven't felt the need tbh.
all i used it for was to get about on, but now i'm using it as a fitness tool, and to actually go for for long rides on to enjoy it, so i am wanting to get the clipless sorted soon.0 -
the bike is also at the LBS having a new tiagra crankset fitted.
i am having to upgrade to a new crankset so i can use a HT2 BB as it has more threads on it, as some of the threads on the drive side of the shell have become damaged due to the bb becoming loose.
this is the new crankset i am getting fitted:

a little update on the TCR road bike.
upon cleaning the bike, i found some lateral play in the BB cups.
took it apart and found that there was some damage to the first 3-4 threads in the drive side threads, and also some damage to the steel threads of the drive side cup on the BB itself.
as the damage wasnt too bad, the LBS and myself decided to go and fit a chainset that uses an external BB as there are more threads on them, and so will engage deeper into the good threads.
after a chase and face a Shimano Dura-ace BB was fitted with a new Chimano Tiagra Triple chainset.
have only taken it around the block since the work but it feels good.
here are a couple of pics of the new settup and the damage to the old BB:

Hello I know this is an old thread but wondered if anyone could help. My friend is just getting into road bikes and has been riding this exact same bike 2006 tcr loaned from another friend. She has now been offered to buy it but neither of them knows what is a fair price for both sides. I've been searching but as its quite old now it's hard to find any info re price.
Does anyone have any idea?
Thank you0 -

I like the frameset and the Matt black finish, with a bit of money and TLC this could be tarted up into a very, very nice bike.0
