Bottom bracket spacer

Just installed a DRS chainguide and the chainset rubs on the 'guide bolts. As I see it I have two choices - grind down the bolts a bit or add another spacer to the bottom bracket.

As the spacer is only likely to be 1-2mm is this going to cause a problem with the chain-line?

Also, are Hope BB spacers the same size as HT2 ones?

Chainline possibly less of a problem than the non drive crank fitting properly. HTII spacers are 2.5mm, no idea what Hope are.

That's a very good point - it's a RF Deus crank which requires a 'hard stop' when bolted up, which will be against the BB if I put another spacer in..

Out with the grinder for the bolts I think..

I'd grind the bolts down, although cause it's a single ring on the front, an extra spacer should be ok.

Pics of what and what is touching.

or move a spacer from non drive to drive side. will change your chain line.

Can't do any pics right now.. but it's the small chainring bolt heads rubbing against the DRS flathead bolts. The latter sit in a chamfered recess but the heads are too big to sit completely flush - my thought was to grind the heads of the bolts slightly so they are smaller diameter and so will fit flush.

It's a C456 frame (73mm shell) with RF Deus chainset (X-type) with a single spacer on the drive side which has now been replaced by the ISCG adapter.

Is your suggestion to move the remaining spacer from the non-drive to the drive side? As I understand it, this will keep the 'axle length' of the bottom bracket the same (so it should tighten up ok) but will change the chain-line? Is this likely to cause any other problems by doing so?

well for a 73mm BB you should not have a spacer on the non drive side.
you should only have the chain device.
