What grease?

Having just bought a FS, I think its going to need a bit more TLC in terms of lubing etc on pivots, bearings and stuff.

What sort of thing should I be using?

Is there a generic grease or something or is it something different for each part? Where would I buy reasonably priced lubes?

Whatever the manufacturer recommends for the pivots. Some don't require any!

For 'general' use, a non lithium, teflon grease is good for many applications.

I've been using Rock n Roll Super Web for bearings lately, good stuff I say (though it can look like someone man-juiced on your bike...).
