Starting to ride again...

Hello all
I'm about to get back into MTB for the first time in three years. I'm not a total novice - I'm a reasonable rider and I've done some teaching when I worked in the US. However I haven't done anything since coming back to the UK and I'm planning to buy a bike to get back into it.
I was wondering if you guys might have some 'essential tips' for me; things I should bear in mind or consider, as I feel it's been rather a long time since I've had any involvement with the sport.
I'm mainly interested in downhill/trails, and for my bike, I'm eyeing up a Revolution Triad 1.0 '11 - http://tinyurl.com/3lam48o
Thoughts and opinions gratefully received.
Cheers

I came back to mtb about 18months ago after a 7 year (beer and women) lay off and its funny how quick it comes back to you.
One thing i do notice though is i dont have the no fear element any more, mortgate payments, kids and wife thoughts put me off some things i would have done back then.Still enjoying it though.0
