I am building up a TT bike on a budget and just need the wheels now.
Will not beable to afford anything carbon for ages so alu only. Budget <£200.
Is it worth having 30mm deep wheels, eg one of the below,
Planet X model B
Shimano RS30
Kinetic 1 K1
Prolite Como, merano
Or will there be no real aero benefit over something like a Fulcrum R5 or RS20.
Any advice or comments on the above wheels appreciated. Or any other suggestions.
Will be used for mostly flat TT. I am approx 80kg.
Cheers.
Still thinking!

*Personally* I wouldn't go for the 30mm wheels for TT riding. Save your money for proper deep section wheels.

Look for Carbonzone on eBay or this guy http://www.yishunstefano.com/wheels.html for good carbon wheels. You can get a good pair of full carbon wheels (either tubs or carbon clinchers) for around the £200 mark depending on what you go for.

Have you experience of these wheels?
Are they subject to import taxes on arrival?
    Thanks

    1. Yes
    2. No

I'd suggest emailing Stephano (web address I posted) and get a price for what you want. His wheels are better than Carbonzone on eBay - and also more expensive. The eBay wheels are still of a high standard.

Not Zipp quality, but just as good as Planet X, etc.

Are 42mm wheels "deep enough"? Just wondering because I've seen this new Vision/FSA wheelset with a 42mm deep alloy/carbon rim. Or is 50mm the absolute minimum?

Thanks for the help so far but any comments on the lower end of the budget?
I have contacted the suppliers noted above and with postage wheels will be approx £300 + tubulars.

Hard/impossible to find deep section wheels @ £200.

Only thing I can think of is eBay secondhand.
