New Road Bike - Cheap(ish)

Right, main roadbike for last 2 years has been the Tricross on 25mm tyres.
Have to keep changing it for sportives and other long day runs, so is a bit of a pain.
So thinking about keeping it set up for touring - guards, rack etc and getting a dedicated road bike for longer, faster runs, sportives etc.
No set budget, but would not want to go much beyond £500 -£700
Thoughts so far are Specialized Allez - it looks decent and nice kit.
Any other's you recommend looking at?

If you're not too tall and are willing to stretch your budget for a bargain, I can highly recommend you a BeOne...

That is a rather nice machine...0 -
Saw one of those beones (full carbon jobbo) with full ultegra. I was very impressed with the quality and it looked amazing in full white with cherry red accent pinstriping.0

Pictures.... c'mon.... pictures! :-)Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.0 -
You may still be able to pick up a Cannondale Caad8 (Sora) 2010 for £450 - £500
A well recommended bike“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

Well now, if you insist...
Still have a few things to do to tart it up a bit...0 -

ahhhhhh.... now I opted for the Fratello over the Equilibirum and that shot has just caused a little pang of regret. Lovely.0

now that's gorgeous, what's the actual built up weight of it considering it's steel? (725 I know, but still)?0 -

It tips the scales at just less than 10 Kg including everything on the photo. It's a very large frame, mudguards, a Tiagra drivetrain and has my hand-built, heavy, 36-spoke commuting wheels though, so it's surprising that it's as light as it is. The Orbea used to weigh over 12kg when kitted out the same.0 -
Some more to throw into the mix...
Orbea Aqua
Bianch Nirone
Felt F95
I quite fancy the Orbea myself :oops:0
