+1 on the tour holiday. Memories of that are worth a lot more than having a frame 100gr lighter than your mates.

I absolutely agree. I've never paid a lot (relatively speaking) for a bike and following the comments on the ebay frames I now never will. A nice no name bike with some nice no name wheels and a second tier groupset.

I'd spend the rest on drugs and prostitutes.

    Mmm....would love a Cervelo....or a Colnago but then that Wilier came along!! :? :D
  • 2.5K? Cheapskate! I wouldn't waste my money. Save up a proper amount and get a whole bike, custom made - 7 or 8 K should do it. Go to a proper manufacturer, not one of these mail order places.

Get a nice columbus or reynolds tubed hand made steel for that kind of money, actually you could get the whole bike practically for that cash!

I certainly wouldn't waste my money on that cheap generic chinese carbon rubbish .... if you must go carbon, you can pick up good second hand italian carbon or Canyon frames are a good bet.

Fly out to Bergamo for a session with Mario Bertoletti - get measured-up and choose from custom XCR or carbon - he makes Viner's custom frames - get a custom paintjob too.
Alternatively, put on a woolly top and head down your bike shop and follow the rest of the sheep with their cookie-cutter carbon bikes from the likes of Specialized, Trek, Giant or Cervelo and feel proud of all that contribution you've made to a marketing budget!
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    They are overated. No style.

Have you tried Halfords? They have some really nice new frames in stock at the moment...

£2.5k buys you some imagination too...

Ti with the edge forks and you'd have change to get some less ugly wheels too.
I'd love to see one of his bikes in the flesh. Sells a cool pic of Andy in some ski goggles too.
