First Sportive Reccomendation

I am thinking about doing my first sportive this year but unsure which one(s) to go for. I have been on the cyclosport website and there seems to be a few within 25 miles of my house. I was hoping someone with more experience could tell me which are the decent ones? Just for some background, I have been riding three months, did my first club run last weekend (95 miles, previous longest ride was 50 miles solo), oh and I live in the Manchester area.

There is a vast range of options within the term "sportive", from "Fun Rides" eg.http://www.bike-events.com/Ride.aspx?id=263(Manchester/Blackpool,10,000 entrants,flat route) to seriously challenging hilly events http://www.kilotogo.com/index.php?option=event_detail&event_id=26(Tour of the Peak,10,000ft of climbs,97miles).So really it's your call.
If you and your bike are fit for purpose,there's not much more to worry about.It probably makes sense to try one locally first,however I like to use sportives to explore new areas but with a marked route and a bit of back-up.0
