Got a front Elixir carbon brake and the hose is way too long. I am currently wrapping it around the frame but i cannot keep it like this forever.

How easy is it to trim the hose length? Should i do it bearing in mind i am a niovice with bleeding brake systems or should i take it to the LBS and shell out some money?
If it is to be the LBS roughly how much would i be looking at?

Thanks

    you need a bleed kit.

    new olive and barb.

all you need comes in the Avid bleed kit.

It's not too hard to do, but it will probably be cheaper to take it to your LBS as the bleed kit for the Avids is £40 to start with. Of course once you've got the bleed kit you can then bleed the brakes yourself (once a year tops really) and you may find it interesting to learn a bit about your brakes (I always think it's pretty good to get a bit more acquainted with the mechanical side of things).
