  • Man do you own anything other than bikes, or live in a homeless shelter while working or something? So many bikes, so much amazing spec!

    Love it!

Hi MountainMonster, just drive an old banger, which isn't worth the price of a saddle.

Just standard X2s, which have been bulletproof so far. Not really a fan of Avid brakes myself, the Elixir 5s speced on the bike were fine, just not for me.

Well the Remedy is a great platform, but so is the Spicy. Lapierre has had frame issues in the past, not sure if these have been rectified.
As for cost, on the Remedy, you should be able to get a pretty reasonable discount on the R.R.P, I couldn't say what discount you might get on a Spicy though.. I know someone running a Remedy 8, and he's very happy with it, whatever anyone might say about Bontrager parts they are generally pretty good these days, and the 8 looks good in the flesh as well. I think parts wise the Spicy might have the edge overall though, and don't forget to compare the Warranties of each bike as well. Hope this is of some help.
Almost forgot to say I love my Remedy, I've found it great for climbing, although it's steady, rather than quick, but very surefooted, and downhill it's fantastic, especially over rocky terrain. Unlike mine, on the 7, 8 and 9 you can mount a chain guide, if you wish to, and the shock does make a difference, IMO.

Really nice bike. Definitely one i'd consider if i had the money.

Can i ask what seat clamp it is? Been looking for one in the same colour for a while.

Believe it or not, it's actually a Bontrager QR, which came with the bike when new, but I have seen other EX9s' with a black QR, so I don't know if they only had a limited batch of them. Have to say it's been faultless, ever since I've had the bike, strange how you can get almost any other colour QR, but not orange.
