Crank Brothers Candy X pedal/SPD cleat compatibility?

Evening all

Does anyone know if you can use Shimano SPD cleats with Candy X pedals - two bikes, one set of shoes, one bike already with Shimano pedals but I've been offered a set of Candy Xs at a ridiculous cheap price for the second bike.

Any help gratefully received

    It is possible. You just need loads of duct tape to 'clip in' and a stanley knife to 'unclip'.
