Seat Clamp Size?

So I've just replaced my seatpost which was 31.8, I foolishly thought that I'd also pick up a new seatclamp because the stock one is pretty much wrecked, without thinking about it, I bid on and won an auction on ebay for a 31.9 clamp.

I've just tried to fit it and I can see that it's way too small, so I looked at the old seatclamp, but there's no markings on it.

Does anyone know what size I should order? I have a 2009 Cannondale Caffeine frame. I'm guessing a 34.9, but it would be good if anyone could give confirmation.

measure the tube. see how to in the FAQs,

or if the seat tube is not shaped or flared or manipulated in any way you could guess it is the same as the front mech band.

Thanks, it's 35, so I'm guessing a 34.9 would do the job.
