This bike is everything that I had envisioned from the beginning. A little over budget but building from a frame up is never cheap. All the components just work, geometry is spot on, color scheme is nice and mellow and just looks incredible in person. I couldn't be happier and I'm in love with the Transition brand.

That's a really nice looking bike there! Which bits pushed you over budget?Carbon 456 http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12754782

that's pretty much exactly how i would have built that up, really is my cup of tea
stunning frame, spot on component choice IMO. Hardcore hardtails are the way forward!0 -
very nice. nothing blingy, just pure good looking, clean lines and wise spec0

the silver and white just works, it's surprising you don't see that colour scheme more often because it looks really nice.0

That frame was in my shortlist before deciding on the Evil Sovereign. Nice build and the colours go together really well.0

I had a brand new 2010 Pike 454 Coil on the On-One 456 SS that I switched the components from but luckily I sold the Pike and broke even on it, and even with more luck, I bought the 2011 Fox 36 Float R for $680 shipped from UniversalCycles.com. I was ready to pay full price ($815) for it as the Pike really wouldn't cut it on this frame lol.
The On-One build was around $1700, and before I said I wouldn't spend more than $2000. The TransAM build is ballpark $2250 BUT I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Should have bought this frame from the beginning. And with the exception of the frame and headset, every part was bought on sale online or with UniversalCycles.com 15%off coupon.
And thanks guys for the comments, the build and color scheme have definitely exceeded my expectations!!!0 -
That's one of the nicest HTs I've seen, great job!
Those tyres look immense!0 -

Lovely build man! For a HT though that is quite heavy! My FS weighs just about the same!0

Apples and oranges. Can't really compare steel AM hardtail with an aluminum full-suspension IMO.0 -

Stunning looking bike and well photographed but I find it hard to believe it weighs 32.1lb. Did you fill the tyres with lead shot or something.
And as someone said hardcore hardtails are the way forward, along with some other types too. I got a Ragley Mmmbop because I thought it looked fun to ride, and it is, in fact it's one of my favorites now.
