Hi all,
I have a set of Pace RC39 forks on my hardtail which are leeking severe oil out of the top left hand seal, I wouldnt have been surprised of this had I ridden them hard off road... As it is they have mostly been sitting in my office on the hardtail... I have spent most of the last year riding the full sus with trusty sids with no problems.

I was wondering if any of you guys have had the same problem?

Cheers in advance

Sounds like the seals could of degraded from not being used. Get onto Fork English to see if the can get serviced.
  • IIRC they use the same damper assembly style as the RC38 i.e damper oil contained in the stanchion similar to Rockshox and Manitou. The lower shaft seal will have leaked to release enough oil into the lowers to push it out of the seal on compression.
Buy a seal kit and DIY o send them off for service.

I've sent a message to Tim @ Fork English about your problem, I'll let you know what he recommends if he doesn't reply on this thread.

Got a message back from Tim@ Fork English....

Excess oil loss probably due to the cartridge leaking as mentioned above although the Hollowform range are known to push oil past the garter seals. It may be a good time to get the fork fully serviced and new garter seals fitted as the internal o-rings will wear and harden over time, the garter seals wear and of course the oil will have been lost and will have degraded if not recently replaced. Watch out for wear to the stanchions caused by dirt contaminating the bushings too. All this can be checked on a service-let me know if you would like them sorted. Tim. FORK-English.

    thanks Andy-cheers
