basically can i I replace the big and middle chainrings without removing the whole chainset from the frame ?

    Yes you can. Have to take out grannys bolts also.

    used to be able on the earlier designs of axle but the side of the External BB cups can stop this on some cranks.

    but it is so easy to remove the crank. and it is easier to remove the sing arm with the cranks off.

  • ok cool, I take it that its possible to remove the cranks without removeing the bottom bracket ? Should have said earlier but i dont have BB removal tool.

    Yes you can remove the cranks without removing the BB
    the crank just slides out when you have removed the non drive side arm.

    wrong arm. RF have the drive arm removable from the axle.

  • Depending on the model year, you may need a crank extractor with pill.
