BB End Float ???

Afternoon gents, just wondered what anyone else thought.
I have just installed my new BB, and fitted the cranks.
I am getting 0.26mm of end float (side to side movement) when tightened up.
Question, be ok, or should I make up a 0.25mm shim; to sit between the outside of the non drive side bearing and crank arm.
2010 Trek 8500 (press fit BB) frame
Shimano XT crank arms
Real World Cycling Zero CH series ceramic press fit BB
Thanks in advance.

sounds like you have not fitted the LH arm fully.
no there should not be any float."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

The drive crank is right through, and the non drive crank has bottomed out on the splines, therefore cannot 'go on' any further.0

then yes you need a shim or 2.
which is odd as the seals normally do the spacing you need."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

It sounds a bit extreme, but I have machined out the first 0.3mm of the splies in the L/H crank.
This has allowed it to move along the shaft further, and take out the play.
Having done it, I am happier with this method, much better than fart assing about with poxy cr4ppy spacers.

Forgot to add, bearings are lovely and smooth, far smoother than the Shimano one I had previously.
Cranks almost float round !0
