Shock boots?

I have got a funny feeling that this may cause arguments....


But rear shock boots / protectors

Good or bad. If good which one?

    If you have having problems with errant sharp rocks damaging the shaft of the shock, maybe worth a go...

    If not, I'd avoid. If things get stuck under the boot, then it causes even more damage.

    It also depends what type you mean.

    Lizard skins always no.

    However I had a problem with seals on my forks and made some out of industrial plastic bags. Kept dirt out and oils in.

    Not an issue with most modern forks though.
    Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?

    Had a Lizardskin on the shock since new, about 18 months now, and it still looks and feels like new. Fitted properly nothing much can get underneath them nothing at all in my experience), removed and washed after each ride, so I'm a fan.

    also it depends on the shock and also the frame design.

    its a cube stereo, hence the issue
