Steering how?
Peddle Up!
In a recent post a cyclist referred to "steering by saddle and pedals". I'm intrigued to know what is meant by this and how to do it, assuming I'm not doing it already! For example, I realise that I have always used counter-steering but it wasn't until I saw a description of how to do it that I realised what it was (if that makes sense ).
Thanks.
Thanks.

I assume they were talking about riding with no hands. Just do what it sounds like ... stear with the pedals. Pedal where you want to go.
Much like steering with the hips.
Just try it and you'll be like, "D'uh. How did I not understand this?!"0 -
You steer with the eyes.
Look where you want to go and you will go where you're looking. Look at what you want to miss and you'll hit it.0 -
Assuming a combo of both of the above posts...ie look where you
want to go and you then steer with the hips, neuromuscular response. Did I just make that up? Hmmm dunno, sounds right to me tho!!0 -

Made up or not, sounds like a pretty apt description to me, as said this is something you do any way without realising it, simply being aware you are doing it, will with practise allow you to use the technique to your advantage. My Ride, 2010, Trek 1.2 compact

I find that if I want to turn left, I turn left; and if I want to turn right, I turn right. What more does anyone need to know, really?0

Fair enough, but as I said in the original post I have always countersteered but until I knew what it was I couldn't explain it to anyone else.Purveyor of "up"0
