Question for Northwave shoe owners

Hi,

I'm going to have to buy a pair of Northwave shoes after my wide feet really not getting on with the Bontragers I bought that felt fine in the shop in any socks and hurt like mad within 5 miles.

So, question for anyone with Northwave shoes is; how do they compare to other shoe sizes you have?

My shoe size should be a 44, the 46 in Shimano is too big but just wide enough, the Bonty is the perfect length at 46 (short fitting shoe I think) so with no local Northwave distributor with any stock (Edinburgh) I was thinking of ordering a 45. Anyone got any experience of how NW measure up in the real world?

Thanks

I usually take 44 or 44.5 (size 10) in shoes, and the 45 Vertigo fits me well.

I'm a 42 in both Bontrager and Northwave. I guess it depends on the particular shoe, but my Northwave (Celsius) boots aren't a wide fit compared to my Bontrager RL shoes.

I think you're on the right track. I'm usually a 43 in street shoes, and my 44 Northwave Vertigo shoes are just about right.

    Generally a 43 - 9.5, 44 in a Northwave Vertigo.

I'm usually a 44 in 'normal' shoes and take a 45 in Northwaves.

Thanks for the replies. Can't I believe I can't find somewhere to try a pair on. Think I'll have to bite the bullet and buy a pair with my fingers crossed. Stupid wide feet!

    Cheers

Normally 45 but 46 in Northwave and they are wider than other shoes I've had. Evans sell them, but if they haven't got them in they'll send them via orders on their website to your local store, so you can try them on.

I had the same problem finding a dealer with stock. I ended up ordered then from a well know internet company that I knew are easy to return products (W*gg*e), with the idea I would just return them for a different pair if they didn't fit.

Exactly what I've just done! Hopefully there won't be any more hassle and they fit perfectly.

The sooner they get more widely stocked the better. Spoke to two decent size bike shops who were trying to get some in.

    Thanks again

Itake a size 46 in shoes, trainers e.t.c. and take a 46 in Cycling shoes. Currently run two pairs of Northwave Vertigo Pro SBS and have an old pair of Northwave for work all size 46 and fit great.

I've got short, thick, stubby feet, very high instep. Normal shoe size 42.

Last pair of Sidis I bought, Sidi Energy, size 43

New, like today, pair of Norhwave Typhoon Evo SBS, size 42 and they are fine. Maybe a bit narrow in the toe box for my odd shaped feet, but fine in width and length.

Got them from Wiggle for £128 last week (stuck in the Post Office for days), today I see they are £145 or something!

I'm a UK 7/EU 41 and have always bought my cycling shoes in the same size as my normal shoes, trainers etc ... I only ever had trouble when Nike changed the last about 6 years ago ...

I have Northwave MTB shoes in a 41 and can wear them with 2pairs of socks if it gets chilly, same with my DMT road shoes ...

Bear in mind that depending what the shoes is made of it will likely mold to your foot to get the perfect fit, my kangaroo skin Nike poggios are the best example of this ... Fit like a glove 10 years down the line (shame the carbon sole is so scuffed) ...

Well I went for the 45 with my normal shoe size of 44. They fit like a glove, for feet, so like a sock...... you get the idea!

Thanks for all the advice, wish I'd gone for Northwave first as they definitely make a nice wide fitting shoe. Cheers!

I'm size 11 normally but a 13 - 48 in Northwave Shoes. They were the only shoes I could get to fit me.
