Hi all,

Im quite new to the road biking scene having done most of my riding on a mountain bike for the past few years however have decided to branch out and try my hand at it. I've been looking for a while now and have recently come across a Cannondale system six which someone is selling local. He says he will take £450 for it and from what I have seen from pictures and from what he has told me it seems to be in good condition having had little use. The spec is as follows:-

Handlebars: Easton Carbon
Handlebar tape: Fizik white and black
Stem: Control Tech made Carbon sytem six integrated stem 100mm
Headset: FSA Cannondale integrated
Shifters: Sram Red
Brakes: Zero Gravity
Crank: Cannondale System Integrated Standard Road Double with Ceramic Bottom bracket
Seatpost: Alien Carbon
Seat: San Marco Regal
Front Derailleur: SRAM Red
Rear Derailleur: Sram Red
Cassette: SRAM 11-26 Red
Wheels: Mavic Ksyrium with Mich. Tires
Pedals: Look Keo Handmade Carbon

It seems to me like a good buy but like i say im new to the road bike scene so am still learning what the best components/parts are. Do you think its a good deal? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Dean

Absolute steal at that price. If it's all in ok condition, I wouldn't hesitate. 450 for that spec is very cheap.

  • Check out the bike's history and condition. It is either a complete bargain, or damaged or maybe nicked at that price. Just seems a bit too cheap so check it out carefully.

These are good bikes. I bought one two years ago in the Evans sale for £2000. It has Dura Ace rather than the SRAM Red that the one you are looking at has so is comparable.

It was only four years ago when the System Six was being sold for over £4000.
As someone has already said - it is either a bargain, broken or nicked.

Far too good to be true. Buyer beware!

Its a steal, but maybe stolen!

Put it this way, the brakes would cost nealry £3-400 new depending on which ones they are.

    Whats year is it?
