Merlin (UK) Road Bikes - As good as their MTB's?

After many years of sterling service from my Merlin Malt MTB I was pleased to see the are venturing in to road bikes...

The question is, are they any good.
The spec looks great for the money but I've not had a chance to go test ride one yet - has anyone else?
Merlin have always given me excellent customer service and their build quality is top notch so they should be on to a winner here.
Maybe I just need to make time to go try one!!
