Hi all,
Im doing up my madrone trail ( same frame as rocky ridge but lower spec), but i'm stuck on what size stem the 2009 rocky ridge has! if anybody knows then it would be much apreciated!
I've currently got a 90mm stem so i'm assuming its quite a bit smaller, around the 50-60mm mark!
Just trying to make it a bit more snappy on the downhills!
Cheers guys

is it really as large as 80mm?? My one has a 90mm stem and it looks alot more than 10mm larger than the 09 rocky ridge ( but from 2010 onwards they are longer)0

I think my 2008 Rocky Ridge originally had an FSA Gap stem, which was approx. 50mm. I've got a 45mm stem on now, but I've still got the FSA somewhere, so I'll have a look.0

cheers johnny, how does it handle with the 45mm?0

I much prefer a shorter stem because I'm a shortarse with short arms.
The 45mm stem (7 degree rise) seems to be fine, which I'm using along with 50mm rise bars. The short stem makes for more responsive handling, but I have relatively short stems on my other bikes, so it's something I'm now used to.0 -

ive got an 06 b17 an im using a 50mm stem which works best for my riding, ive got the large frame with a long top tube, had the frame been shorter i would have went for longer stem, think its about what works best for you, trial and error maybe.0

Stems come down to personal preference, largely. So stick whatever you have to hand on it, ride it a bit, and see if it needs changing.0
