in-line gear cable adjusters that work??

I've tried these in the past but have had issues with the one for the rear mech undoing itself as you ride along. Any recommendations as to a make which works?

  • You'll probably find that - especially if you turn right a lot. Much will depend on the actual fitment on the bike side ie if the feruls (sp) are deep enough, this will depend on bike to bike. So there is no magic make. Even if the internal spring is very strong it occurs.

    i find the easiest thing to do is to just fill up the threads with threadlock (so you can undo if necessary to change cable) screw in the barrel adjuster totally and then, fine tune with the rear adjuster (on the mech) and leave. if everything is set up right you should only need to adjust the back when the cable stretches.
