So all the ASO events remain on free-to-air channels until at least 2015. Sweet.

No way that cycling is going to go down the see all, one channel, pay per view, revenue generator that would be part of JV's brave new world.
Rai will continue, too."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Good news, especially as my 11 y/o son is just starting to get into cycling in a big way.0

Cycling just can't go to pay per view. Yes some of us like the races but it's not like we have tribal loyalty to a team and will pay come what may. Nor can they hype up a race like a boxing match.
Plus even if the race organisers might like the money direct they attract the teams because images of riders with huge logos get beamed around the world, not to a restricted niche of fans.
Doesn't his jumbo deal mean likes of ASO have fixed plans for the future, there will be no Bruyneel Tour for some time given the all-important TV deal is stitched up.0 -
And sponsors will no doubt require free-to-air coverage otherwise it breaks the sponsorship model.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0
