Well,
Popped up to Spitalfields today and grabbed a pair of Endura Humvee's, some lights, and a couple of spare inner tubes. Came away a happy customer, although I was also after some shoes but didn't see anything that took my fancy.
Picked up the bike this evening, and rode it home from Hither Green station (only about half a mile) but enjoyed all 2 minutes of it!!!
Will pop into On Your Bike tomorrow to see if I can pick up some shoes and might do the commute back to Hither Green tomorrow evening after work.
Little dissappointed I won't get to ride in tomorrow but good things come to those who wait!!!!

Hang on, am I being especially stupid tonight? You rode your new bike back from the station. You're not riding in tomorrow - so the bike presumably is staying at home - but you hope to ride home from work. How many bikes do you have?
EDIT: oh, ok, I get it, it's a folder so you're taking it in on the train. It's probably too late to say don't bother reading this post0 -
Even if it wasn't a folder, I'd get up at the crack of dawn to get it into London on the train so that I could ride it back....Little boy to Obama: "My Dad says that you read all our emails"

What's normal leaving time at work?
Actually, I can't go hunting down someone on a folder. Best case I've bested someone 6 or 7 places below me, worst case doesn't bear thinking about...0 -
On shoes - pop into Evans too.
If you can get the Spesh BG Expert (assuming you're after SPD rather than SPD-SL) for £70 you've got a bargain, they're great shoes (note the 24 5 star reviews and nothing lower)

Try the Specialized for size, as MTB marketed ones they might be okay. I went straight to them from flats and they're fine to walk around in etc0 -
Will give them a try.
Any other recommendations?Little boy to Obama: "My Dad says that you read all our emails"

No worries.
Think I'll take the long way to the station tomorrow morning and have another ride on the bike.Little boy to Obama: "My Dad says that you read all our emails"

Did you have to go one size bigger, as some people have suggested on the evans website?Little boy to Obama: "My Dad says that you read all our emails"

Slightly bigger maybe. I normally take a 9.5 but these are a 100 -

I'm onto my 3rd pair but thats several years worth of regular wearing in all weathers, they're extremely comfy, hard as nails and look presentable enough for general wear. I've got a pair I've left as non SPD for weekends at work when jeans are ok and for days when I'll be doing a lot of walking in them. purely a skinflint measure to save my cleat wear as even with spds they're fine to walk in. The cleat is pretty well recessed but you can feel and hear iton a hard surface, but nowhere near as much as many others.0
