It took a lot of effort for me not to make an immature comment about that!!! I must be growing up!

I did think as I was typing it...'this is not sounding right' lol!

with regards to an update on this I popped down to my local bike dealer where they recommended for my height and medium (between 17-18") would be best.
but as i pointed out (when i showed him two 'mediums') that even they are different.
unfortunately they don't stock cove bikes so i wasn't able to test one of them but did manage to test on a couple of medium specialized bikes. They felt fine but a ride in a car park is gonna be totally different to a longer ride.

anyone got any opinions as to whether the cove would be suited. or more so what sort of geometry I should be looking for (i could compare it the specialized one and also the one cove list on their website)?
btw, does anyone know if the cove handjob's geometry has changed by much over the years? the one im looking at still has v-brake mounts but im unsure of the year so unable to clarify whether its got a different geometry to the latest models.

I know bike-size is somewhat personal, but I'd be inclined to agree with Pastey. Specialized may be a poor comparison, as I've always found them to be quite long for their stated size. I'm 5'11" and once owned a 17" Stumpy. A friend who is pretty much the same height as me currently rides a medium Camber that feels like it fits me pretty well too.

I've never ridden a Covethough, so I'm not much help there :)

well after calling a shed load of dealers all, bar 1 mentioned to go with the 17.5". although they all (like myself) believe a test ride would be beneficial first.
I've managed to find a company about an hour away how have a 17.5" demo available so fingers crossed i'll pop over there tomorrow.

in the meantime the one im looking at has the following spec:

    17.5 Frame
By the sounds of it the frame is a good few years old. It has the mounts for v-brakes which I see are no longer on the current ones

    Suspension
    Duke XC suspension forks

    Drivetrain
    Raceface Turbine forged Cranks
    XT Shifters Front and Rear
    Deore Front Mech
    XT Rear Mech
    XT Cassette
    XTR Cabling
    Shimano SPD Pedals

    Steering
    Easton EA50 Handlebars
    Easton EA50 Stem
    Yeti Grips
    Hope Bar end plugs
    Cane Creek Headset

    Wheels (r)
    Mavic X517 Rim
    Hope Bulb Hub
    Road slick tyre

    Wheels (f)
    Mavic X717 Rim
    Hope Bulb Hub
    Road slick tyre

    Braking
    Hope Mini Front
    Hope Mini Mono Rear

    Other
    Ritchey Seatpost
    WTB saddle

What kind of money would you expect this lot to go for?
