Commuter Tyres for Specialized FSR XC Comp

Yes - I know it's a stupid bike to commute on, but it's all i've got.
As part of a gradual process of making it a bit more road friendly, I would like to get some more sensible road biased tyres.
It was made in July 09 for reference. According to the spec sheet I have, it has:
Rims - Specialized Alex Rims Stout SL
Tyres - The Captain 26 x 2.20
I'm riding it on the road everyday, so can go quite extreme slick wise I think. But a couple of people at work (there's always one) that mentioned that lots of tyres these days can be slightly stronger than standard slicks (he said Armadillo's if that rings any bells?).
Any ideas or recommendations? I don't really mind how much I spend.

I'd recomend maxxis xennith 26" X 1.5 folding. the bike will look daft with these on it but if practicality is what you want...
you could go for 2.0" wide slicks to stop it looking silly but they wont be as practical as the 1.5". anything less than 1.5" may be tricky to get on the rim. O and make sure you put at least 60psi in them.
CRC have them cheap, you can get them out of Asia (ebay) for super cheap too0
