what changes would you make (to the Woodcock version)?
I'm considering - Wasdale to styhead - Stonethwaite to Langdale fell
or whats the best way around Harter Fell (which I've heard is a pig)?
Any others?
Thanks.

anyone got suggestions for c2c first timers on how not to get lost.Going July 2011
I have got sustran map but it looks really basic and evidently the signage is a bit hit and miss due to trophy hunters etc.
We are booked in at Eden Gate in Penrith for first night.Second night accommodation not fixed yet but have back up in form of wives in cars
Any advice would be appreciated0 -
My first bit of advice would be to get a GPS. Makes navigation a sinch.
Secondly I'd say to plan in depth....list cycle shops en route, take a decent stack of spares and 1st aid kit and see if the accommodations will wash kit for you....and remember neutrition and hydration!!
I did the C2C in 2008 from St Bees to RHB-its the one MBR did. Its about 230 miles and 27500 feet of ascent. About 75% off road.
Do you have a route planned?0
