Bottom bracket play?

Hi folks, quick query before I rush off an place an order for something I might not need! Been having a few creaks, clicks and groans recently. There is a fair bit of movement in the drive side crank arm and chainrings i.e. a very definite wobble and it feels loose. It will move a good few mm. the non drive side seems tight and there is no wobble. If I hold both crank arms then here is still wobble and movement on the drive side. Everything else seems tight.

I reckon it's probably the bottom bracket on it's way out but wanted to check there was nothing else which could need tightened etc. first.

Thanks

undo the pinch bolts and re tighten the preload bolt. then tighten the pinch bolts.

has it gone. sorted. no still play then new bearings.

Cheers. Assuming that needs a special tool? Can it be done with just the tensioner tool or do I need the BB tool too?

    Thanks for the help

tensioner tool to tighten, bb tool to replace bearings.

Needle-nose pliers will work for tensioning in a pinch.

well i am not expecting the BB cups to be lose.

if they are yes you will need a BB tool.

but you will also need that if the bearings have gone.
