Do I need to re-index my gears?

Had a chain snap on me the weekend before last, two links went. One of them might have been my fault as it was stuck and I had used a chain tool to loosen and then move the link itself so the chain ran easier.
New chain fitted, but in certain gears (mainly the middle 3 on the 9speed cassette) the chain will slip between gears sometimes, especially if I apply a lot of power.
Have a new cassette for a new wheelset anyway incase I have ballsed my current cassette.

Should not need reindixing, but never hurts to check.
However I think your problem is a worn cassette.0 -
Yeah I fear that the casette might have been damaged during the chain snap, was a cheap one anyway.0
