SRAM Red with non-SRAM chainset?

I'm looking at getting Red, but on my frame the buzzsaw rings on the chainset just looks terrible!

I know SRAM is compatible with Shimano stuff but does it really matter at all for the chainset? Could I mix it with anything eg Campagnolo, without issues?

Option A is swap it for a Force chainset, but I've also been looking at a few carbon Record options as well as others...

Thoughts?

It'll be fine with other makes, only thing to prob steer clear of is a Campag chainset with 11 speed rings as its designed for a narrower chain. I have a Campag chainset with a mix of Force mechs, Red shifters, DuraAce Cassette and DuraAce chain and its all absolutely perfect shifting. (cassette and chain shift slicker than Sram cassette and KMC X10SL i had before too).
