Shimano chain rings on Prowheel crank

Hi all
anyone tried putting 5-bolt/110mm pcd Sora rings onto some other crank? In my case it's a Prowheel compact crank on a Carrera Valour road bike. The BB etc is running fine so I don't want to fit a full new crankset, but the rings are frankly stuffed and don't engage properly with the new chain.
I'm guessing that only the pcd is the issue so the rings will simply bolt on- however of course there could be another wrinkle...
Comments please

If its the same BCD, then yes they will almost certainly fit. Just occasionally the middle ring needs some fettling due to a different location diameter.

  • Thanks for that - I'll take the plunge.
It's a compact double so no middle ring fettling, much as I enjoy fettling occasionally, but there are limits when the sun's out.
