I run a continental mountain king 2.2 up front and continental race king 2.2 on the rear. Mainly use bike for technical trails at Dalby, what pressures should I be running to be effective?

whatever pressure works best between rock hard and too soft

too soft and you will pinch flat

too hard and you lose grip up front

    start about 35psi

have a read of the info in the FAQs.

I personally would never run with less than 30psi in my tyres. You want it low enough to give maximum grip but not so low than you get pinch flats all the time and also struggle to get up hills. If you are still using tubes then you may get pinch flats from the rocks, roots etc with 30psi in them so it may be a case of experimenting.
I have converted to tubeless using 'Joes No Flats' kit. Now i have no tubes, running 30psi when needed no problem and havent had a flat in over a year!! 8) I use Maxxis High Roller tyres 2.35 front and back for trail centers.
  • I've been around the red today, Probably had too much (about 40 psi) I did intend letting a bit out but forgot. It was a bumpy old ride but puncture free and very fast and fun :D

i stick in 45 psi if i have alot of road to do on the local runs to get home, noticed how they spun alot more when i went off road
